TARE MASS= When you see your new vehicle sitting on the showroom floor without any added accessories and no passengers.

If you were to leave it exactly as it is and not add towbars,  bullbars etc. and are just carrying suitcases occasionally,  the factory suspension would last for years and years.  Once we start personalising the vehicle with accessories, we need to keep a close eye on payloads.  Accessories such as towbars, bullbars & long-range tanks can quickly eat up factory payload.
